We are thankful to report my mother in law, Kathy's, surgery went well today. Her hour long operation removed the cancer tumor within her breast as well as a few lymph nodes. She has been recovering from the 1pm surgery and was allowed to come home around 6:30pm since her pain was mild. She fell asleep on the couch in the comfort of her own living room.
The doctor said he felt good that all the tumor was removed. Tissue samples have been sent to the lab to test the surrounding areas for cancer cells. We will get those results sometime in the next week. The next step will be radiation sessions to target specific areas.
Please continue to keep Kathy in your thoughts and prayers has she enters the next phase of her treatment.
